Most of them use breadcrumbs and baking. Mine on the other hand, breaks from the casserole dish and moves you into the pan. Not only is this simple to make, but it is incredibly affordable and usually under $7. It’s large enough to feed a hungry party of five as well (get it?)

Here are the ingredients:
• 4-5 basil leaves (more if you like basil)
• 12 – 16 oz bag of pasta (you can use elbow macaroni if you like but I prefer fagioloni or manicotti)
• 1 small carton of heavy cream
• 1 small onion
• 1 bag or block of cheese
• Bacon
• Pepper, salt, garlic powder (optional)

1. First, you want to get a pot filled with water and put it on high heat.
2. Dice the bacon. Place the bacon onto a pan at medium heat.
3. Dice the onion and place into pan.
4. A little before the water is completely boiling, place salt into the water.
5. Place the pasta into the boiling water.
6. After the bacon and onions have come to the appropriate browning, take the pan and empty out all the excess drippings from the bacon.
7. Place the pan back on the stove (with the bacon and onions) and put in the heavy cream. Let it simmer until it gets thick. This should take about 10 minutes.
8. Drain out the pasta from the boiling water and wash with cold water. Then put the cooked pasta into the pan with the rest of the ingredients.
9. Put in as much cheese as you’d like into the pan. Slowly mix the mixture until it gets nice, uniform, thick, and gooey.
10. Turn off heat and season with garlic powder and cracked pepper.
11. OPTIONAL: If you want a crispy top crust, a little before the mixture thickens completely, you can pour out the mac ‘n cheese into a casserole dish, top with bread crumbs, and throw it into the oven at 400º.
12. Mince the basil leaves and place on top of mac ‘n cheese.
13. EAT!

We hope you enjoy our new take on macaroni and cheese and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you for watching and your continual support for us. You are all great and here's to more cooking for 2012!

Apologies and Seconds

Hey guys. Okay, let me take this time to PROFUSELY APOLOGIZE for the lack of new posts. Again, I can blame it on the computer or the camera or a bunch of technical things. But let's just spice things up and say that the real reason is because I've been living in Yosemite National Park for a year in hopes to gaining knowledge of food prep from the ground up. They say that survival is the best instigator of innovation.

With all that said, I want to just say I have tons of recipes for you guys. TONS! And if I cannot make any videos of it thus yet, the least I can do is make written posts about. So with that said, I'll be sure to post up whatever exploits I have in cooking for the future.

Finally, you guys are all awesome for still following. I appreciate it so much and I hope you guys are eating well and living great.

Your friend,

Sammy

Grilled Two Cheese & Tomato Sandwich

The best things in life are easy. While that is an incredibly ambiguous and generalizing statement, it holds true to one of the best things on Earth that we seldom eat, but can usually find at any Americana restaurant. And with my spin on it, you will be making this thing all the time. Not only is it simple, but the flavors are comforting and savory.

So here are the ingredients:

Tomato
Pepperjack cheese
Colby Cheese
Two slices of bread
Butter

First, you want to cut the tomato into slices. Since you only need about two slices of tomato for each sandwich, you can reserve the rest for future sandwich making. Place the two slices of tomato onto the face of one of the slices of bread.

Next you want to cut the cheese. And cut it you shall. With the two different cheeses, make sure you have enough to completely blanket the surface of the bread. Place the cheeses on top of the tomato slices you already placed.

Next you enclose the cheese and tomato goodness with another slice of bread on top. After that, you are going to want to place a fair amount of soft butter and lather it on top of the top slice of bread, creating a nice buttery layer.

Heat the skillet on medium and wait a minute so it gets uniformly heated.

Place the sandwich buttered down side first. Now you can just leave it as is, but I like to add the pressure. So you can either get something heavy to squish the sandwich flat or you can just squish it down with your spatula every now and then.

After about five minutes, lather up the face up side with butter just like you did previously. After applying such lathering, flip the sandwich over to the recently buttered side. Repeat with the pressure.

After about three minutes, take the sandwich out of the skillet and onto a plate. Cut the sandwich diagonally from top to bottom and plate the two triangles of goodness on top of each other.

And there you go. In about 10 minutes, you've got yourself a decadent, delicious sandwich that'll make you tear up with joy as you eat your sandwich. I recommend eating this with a nice hot soup, such as my favorite: tomato & basil bisque. Great for the colder weather coming in. May you live long and eat well!

How To Make Your Own Hearty Pizza

First and foremost, we have to apologize for not making any new recipes or posts. We're still in transition. Specifically a lack of a computer to make new videos. Still I appreciate all the support you guys give and I hope that you are still with us. So although this new recipe lacks a video, I hope you guys will enjoy this pizza recipe that is incredibly easy and even more delicious. As Nacho Libre once said, it's "Extra Delicious".

(note: Picture by dailyveggie.wordpress.com)

I love pizza.

It's just so delicious and wonderful and gooey and I could go on and on and on and on. But one thing that good quality pizza is NOT is cheap. And very rarely do you find yourself making a high quality pizza without much work; however, I found a pizza recipe that will completely satisfy your cravings, takes less then half an hour to make, and is easy. Plus, if you are a lover of meat, you will find this recipe exceptionally fantastic.
So the ingredients you will need are:

• 1 - 1.5 lbs of ground lean meat (beef, chicken, turkey, pork, etc.)
• 1 small onion or 1/2 a large onion
• 1/2 red bell pepper
• Handful of mushrooms
• 1 can of tomato paste
• 1 loaf of any uncut artistry bread (French bread, Irish soda bread, rye bread, etc.)
• 10 slices of cheese (any will do but I like pepperjack)

Pro tip:
So here is a tip on buying the bread before I actually start the recipe. If you go to your local supermarket, many of them have a discount rack for artistry bread that they need to sell. These are the best to go for because the pizza does well when it is a bit stale. It helps add to the crunch of the pizza. Not to mention the markdown is usually a dollar or two on these things. So make sure you look there first before going into the bread section.

Instructions:
1. Get the bread and cut it horizontally into two opened halves.
2. Once the bread is cut, get a spoon and scoop out all the bread in the middle. You want to hollow out the bread. You can put the excess bread into a bag for later eats or just to make into bread crumbs in the future.
3. Place the hollowed out bread halves onto a pan for the stove facing hollow side up.
4. Cut the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms into small diced pieces and put them to the side. Remember to always wash vegetables first before cooking!
5. Get a skillet out and put it over medium heat. Once it's hot enough, put the ground meat into the pan and season with some salt, pepper, and garlic powder or any other seasoning you wish to add. Let it brown for about 6 - 7 minutes.
6. While the meat is browning, heat the oven to 400° F and once it reaches that temp, place the hollowed out bread into the oven for about 2 - 3 minutes. This is what will allow it to get nice and crispy. Once that time is up, place out of oven and to the side.
7. Back to the meat. Once the time 6 or 7 minutes is up or the meat is starting to brown nicely, add the diced up vegetables into the mix. Cook for about another 5 minutes.
8. Once the 5 minutes are up or the mix almost completely cooked, take that tomato paste and put it into the mix. Mix the tomato paste well into the mixture and give it one more minute to cook.
9. After the mixture is cooked, put the meat and place it evenly into the hollowed out bread loaves. Once you get the mix all in, place the slices of cheese on top of the meat and place into the oven for about 5 - 8 minutes.
10. Take out the pizza from the bread and cut into good hearty portions. Make sure you allow it to cool down a bit before you eat it, unless you enjoy losing taste buds and skin in your mouth.
11. ENJOY!

This recipe is easy and delicious and just like almost all our other recipes: Real, Fast, and Recipe. Hahaha. Well I don't either. I wasn't fortunate enough to have that type of food. But just because your mom doesn't make it doesn't mean you can't have it. And what's even better? It's so simple to make. So let's do it!

INGREDIENTS

1 lb of ground beef

1 onion

1 potato

1 egg

Coconut oil

Bread crumbs

Ketchup

PROCESS

The first thing you want to do is dice all the vegetables into cubes. So dice the potatoes and then dice the onions.

Get the skillet ready and heat it up nice. You're going to put the coconut oil in the skillet. Make sure the heat is on medium.

Put the onions in the skillet and saute. After about two minutes, place the potatoes into the skillet and cook the vegetables for a few minutes till they're nicely cooked.

Turn the heat off and place the cooked vegetables into a big bowl. Let them cool off for about 5 to 10 minutes. Trust me, you're going to want this because your hands are going to be touching these hot babies.

Next you, are going to want to start preheating the oven at 350 degrees. I'm horrible in remembering preheating so here is a reminder for you to do so.

Once the vegetables cool, you are going to put the ground beef into the bowl. Season with copious amounts of pepper and some salt. If you have it, I'd recommend also seasoning with granulated garlic.

Once seasoned, put a good covering of bread crumbs into the mix. I'd say about two good handfuls worth.

Now you are going to mix this bowl of goodies together in a rolling motion, almost like you would be rolling dough. Do this till the texture feels pretty similar to dough. A meaty dough.

To add more texture and to keep the mixture together, you are going to add an egg. This will help keep everything together. So after you add the egg, mix again until you feel it being like a much more solid meaty lump. The egg should be completely mixed in.

Get a tray ready and line it with tin foil on the bottom. This is where you are going to put the meat and shape it into a loaf.

Put the meaty mixture onto the tray and mold it into a nice meaty loaf. Some people prefer to use a meat loaf pan but I find it just as easy, and cheaper, to form it free hand.

After you shape the loaf, pour a good amount of ketchup on top of the loaf. The ketchup is the coating that you want on the loaf. It is delicious and sweet and wonderful when nicely caramelized.

After all that is done, you're ready to place the meat loaf into the oven. Place in for an hour and wait for the meat to cook.

DANCE BATTLE! For one hour.

After the hour is up, take it out. Cut it into pieces that you find suitable for your appetite and eat!

It might seem like a lot of steps but I just broke it down for you little by little to make sure you get it all right. Once you make this, you'll realize actually making this recipe isn't hard or long. The hard thing will be fighting your appetite once you smell that meat loaf cook.

I hope you enjoyed this Real "Slow" Recipe and that you try it out. I'm sure you'll greatly enjoy it. Eating less and more often is good for you. It helps you keep a steady metabolism throughout the day. But if you're not use to doing that and are like most people, you eat only once, twice, or three times a day. And those meals are probably HUMONGOUS!

Changing eating habits that most of us have had since childhood can be rough. With only a few encouraging words, it can be down right fierce. But there a few tricks that you can use to help you eat healthier and better.

1. Eat Slower

Most of us eat quickly in our busy work days. We get thirty minute lunches and probably half of that time is spent just getting food. But even with that you should try to eat slower than if you were in a rush. When you do (and studies have proven), it gives your brain more time to register that you are full. This will help you from overeating and that can cut so many calories you don't need during that sitting. Also, that leaves you a snack for later which could curb your appetite from reaching for the calorie packed vending machines and sodas. That also saves you $$.

2. Put food in smaller dishes

If you're like me, you were raised to cherish food and finish everything on your plate. I have a few friends who used to get punished for not eating all their food! But you're grown up now and you have options. If you want to eat less, you have to visually fool yourself as well. Studies have shown that when you are eating, you are more prone to taking visual cues instead of internal cues to dictate how you eat. That means you're more likely to want to finish everything on the plate than listening to your heart who has tapped out ten minutes ago. The best solution to this is smaller dishes. It will make everything look bigger.

Imagine if you had a slice of pizza, but had it placed on a tea plate. That slice would look ridiculously large. You'll feel like a pig for eating so much! Or laugh at how ridiculous it looks. But those kinds of visual cues can work to your advantage.

It doesn't help either that over the years the average size of dishware has increased. This means bigger portions to fill them out. Don't fall into the Man's plan! Next time you're at a restaurant, request a small appetizer plate along with your entree. Then see how big that 12 oz steak looks like. At least whatever you can't fit on the plate, you can box it up for a snack later on.

Although these things won't lead to a loss of tens of pounds in a week (or it might), these small tips should help you to take steps to further improve your eating habits. And if you can do that, you can enjoy eating and more of it throughout the day.

Good luck and here's to eating well!

How to Make an Healthy Omelet in a Bag

Yeah, I actually made this and ate it. That's why we chose this dish to be featured today on Real Fast Recipes.

Not only is this recipe really delicious, it's also ridiculously easy to make. All you do is chop up a bunch of ingredients which you can do with a chef's knife or a vegetable chopping machine that you can easily purchase for less than $40.00.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup crushed mixed nuts
Handful Onion Cilantro
1/3 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 head of lettuce
4-5 oz cooked salmon
1 medium tomato
4 Tablespoons Plain Yogurt

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:

1. Put lettuce and applesauce to the side
2. Chop everything else including vegetables and mix together
3. Put the mix in the lettuce wrap and add sauce

WHY I USED THE MICROWAVE:

There are other ways to cook your salmon like grilling it, frying it in a pan, or baking it in the oven, but because I wanted to use the fastest and most efficient way of cooking my fish, I chose to put it in the microwave.

Don't forget to put saran wrap around the salmon to preserve it's moisture in the microwave.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR SALMON IS FULLY COOKED

You can cut a little bit off the side to make sure it's not dark pink inside. You want the salmon a little bit flaky. When in doubt, it's better to cook it a little bit more because the last thing you want is a stomach ache. It won't make that much of a difference because you're going to be adding a bunch of other sauces and ingredients to the mix to aid the taste of the salmon.

Optional: Sour Cream =)

And there you have it, salmon lettuce wraps: simple, fast, and absolutely amazing to eat!

DANK Chili Recipe

When I was living in Australia, I would occasionally get cravings for some hearty chili. Unfortunately, none of my mates knew what I was talking about. When they heard chili, they were thinking about this:

I was disappointed all year and much as I scoured the grocery markets and festivals (and there are quite a lot in Sydney), I never found any.

So I forgot about it for quite some time until this past Thanksgiving. One of our guests brought with him this recipe and as simple as it was, I could NOT believe how delicious, how rich, how DANK it tasted. That's why I call this DANK Chili.

The ingredients:

2 cans of chili (We used Stagg Chili with beans)

1 stick of cream cheese

Preparation:

Place a pot over the stove. Make sure it's big enough to hold both cans of chili.

Put the heat at medium. Too high will scour the bottom of the pot once the chili goes in.

Empty the cans of chili into the pot.

Make sure you keep an eye on the chili, being generous with your stirring. If you leave it alone for too long you'll get that gross hard gunk on the bottom.

Once it starts to boil and bubble, lower the heat a bit (around the middle between low and medium heat) and put that stick of cream cheese into the chili.

Once the cream cheese is in the hot chili, stir it every 13 seconds or so. This will help ensure the cream cheese and chili mix uniformly, adding to the deliciousness of it.

Once no more chunks of cream cheese exist and the chili is a nice light caramel color, its ready to eat. So turn off that heat and get ready to eat.

Optional:

You can always cut up some nice red onions or green onions and use it as an extra topping for the chili. The sweetness in the onions will explode more flavor in your mouth hole.

If you also enjoy spicier things, you can always add Tabasco or any other hot sauce into the mix for that kick in the teeth taste.

Now just serve this with some tortilla chips or nice thick toast and you got something that'll not just satisfy that burly hunger in you, but keep you warm and TKO you into a nice food coma after you're done. ENJOY!

How to Make a Cream Cheese Omelet in under 15 Minutes

I love omelettes. But I can't spell them. Omellete? Ometelle? Omeletts? Doesn't matter, hard to spell, easy to make.

Omel...e...t...z? Whatever.

Well... they're great because not only are they easy to make but they're also good for you. Omelets can contain healthy sources of protein, vegetables, fiber, and best of all they don't spike your blood sugar level.

Some readers may object that cream cheese is very congesting to the body. It's not the healthiest choice in our repertoire of ingredients, but sometimes you just got to enjoy and not be so strict with yourself. Otherwise... you just might go crazy...

Ingredients:

1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
4 Large Eggs
1/2 cup diced fully cooked ham of your choice
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt (Optional for taste)
1/8 teaspoon pepper (Optional for taste)
3 tablespoon cream cheese
Fresh Spinach (Handful or to your desire)
Fresh Basil (4-5 Leaves)

Preparation:

1.) Beat the 4 eggs thoroughly
2.) Dice and chop everything

Instructions:

1.) In a nonstick pan or skillet, saute the chopped onions on high heat in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil until they're tender and slightly brownish.
2.) Then reduce the heat to medium and add the 4 beaten eggs
3.) As eggs set, lift edges, letting uncooked potion flow underneath
4.) By the time you finish this, people will think highly of you and you will be remembered as a champion.
So here are the ingredients:

1 lb of ground beef

1 package of medium tofu

a few tablespoons of soy sauce

First the ground beef. If you go to the market where there is a meat section, you can find ground beef in either a giant meat tube or prepackaged from the butcher. Depending on fat content, ground beef is pretty inexpensive. I'd recommend getting ground beef that is in the lower fat content, around 12% to 10%. Anything higher then 22% is fine but you'll feel the fat later. Also, look for deals. Usually ground beef has deals going on in the markets, especially when its closer to or on a weekend.

Okay, so let's get the pan ready. Get a frying pan and place it over a medium heat. Medium heat is usually the best heat setting to cook red meats because anything too high and you scorch the outside but the inside is still uncooked and too low and you'll be waiting forever for the meat to cook.

Get the lump of ground beef into the frying pan and let it cook for a few minutes. After those minutes have passed, the meat should start browning up. This is the perfect time to place any extra seasoning you'd like to place on the meat. I usually just put pepper and since you're using soy sauce later, there isn't a need for salt. The soy sauce will have enough sodium in it to flavor it with a nice sweet flavor.

As the meat is cooking, get out your package of tofu. Now, open it up and place it on a cutting board. You are going to want to cube this into tiny little cubes. I would recommend you cut horizontally first and then cut it vertically but cut it any way you want. As long as it is cubed.

Go back to the ground beef now. When it looks like most of is fully browned, put the cubes of tofu into the frying pan. Let it cook for about two minutes. Then, place the soy sauce into the frying pan with all the goodness. Although I said a few tablespoons, you can put as much soy sauce as you think is right for flavoring.

Let them all simmer together for a few more minutes and then you're done! You can now eat this straight, with rice, a salad or whatever you'd like. I'd say serve it over rice and mix those two together. Perfect for those colder nights.

So there you have it, beef and tofu with 5 ingredients or less, ENJOY!

About the Real Fast Recipes Chef Authors

Sam:

Hello. My name is Sam and being the oldest of three, I was often the one who ended up having to cook dinner for me and my siblings. Through all that ordeal, I learned (and am still learning) several different recipes that help me get through the stress of two hungry siblings, along with my own cravings.

Now, living life after college and trying to make it on my own, I still need to cook food that tastes wonderful and doesn't take too long to make. So I decided to create this blog to help anyone else who might be like me; wanting delicious food to eat, but without the hassle of too many ingredients or hassle.

So whether you have a need to make something quick before going out on the town, entertaining a crowd, or just trying to stay alive and avoid malnutrition, I hope these recipes can help you and your biggest critic: your stomach.

Ray:

My mother is an amazing cook. Growing up, we always had home cooked meals prepared and ate family as a dinner. There have been many times she's tried to pull me aside and teach me, but being a teenager, I was more interested in sports, girls, and being lazy =).

I'm also an ex-acne sufferer of 10 years. I've tried everything from antibiotics to commercial acne products like Proactiv to even steroidal injections. None of that worked for me, but I'm here to tell you what did. And as the creator and author of the "How I Cleared My Acne Blogspot" many of my readers have asked me about what they can and cannot eat.

I've never been much of a cook, partially due to not having the time to prepare elaborate meals but mainly because salads are just... so much easier! But not many people can eat salads the rest of their lives.

So a close friend of mine, who's also an amazing cook, have started this website/blog as a way for my readers and other people, who may or may not have very much cooking experience, make deliciously cooked meals with little to no effort.
